Equipment Operator

Responsible for operating several types of power construction equipment such as loaders, hydraulic excavators, tractors, Bobcat, skidsters, scrapers or motor graders to excavate, move and grade earthwork erect structural and reinforcing steel and pour concrete or other hard surface paving materials, setting equipment, installing underground piping hoisting materials and performing demolition of structures
Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
Turn valves to control air and water output of compressors and pumps
Adjust hand wheels and depress pedals to drive machines and control attachments such as blades, buckets, scrapers, swing booms, cables, etc.
Control levers and pedals on assigned equipment to lower bucket or scoop up material and lift, swing or dump material
Position crane boom and moving levers to control equipment hand wheels on machine to adjust a blade attachment
Perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines
Operators are responsible for maintenance of their machine maintenance reports shall be filled out
May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice
Maintain a professional appearance
Other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Foreman
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, read engineering drawings and procedure manuals
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
Workers should be able to work within precise standards of accuracy follow set procedures and standards, judge distances and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
